On April 24th, AKB48’s Kashiwagi Yuki held a release event for her latest photo book, ‘Yu, Yu, Yukirin…‘, at Fukuya Bookstore in Tokyo.
Regarding the upcoming ‘AKB48 General Election‘ in June, Kashiwagi commented, “If
it’s something that the fans wish for, then I want to aim for a higher
rank. After becoming 3rd, I was able to see Acchan and Yuko from a
closer distance. I was able to feel their greatness more than I have
ever felt, so I can’t say, ‘I want to become center’ out loud.”
‘Yu, Yu, Yukirin…’ marks Kashiwagi’s first photo book in over 2 years. The photos were taken by creative director Yanai Michihiko.
It features a wide variety of pictures of the idol doing yoga, cooking,
enjoying a drive, visiting the amusement park, visiting an onsen
on a trip to Kagoshima, and attending live events in Taiwan and Hong
Kong. Kashiwagi can be seen in over 50 outfits including swimsuits and yukatas.
Before its release date, over 150,000 copies of the photo book were
pre-ordered, and this event attracted 1,500 fans. Kashiwagi smiled as
she said, “It’s amazing. I’m surprised.”
She then showed confidence in her photo book saying, “My first
photo book 2 and a half years ago contained my first gravia pictures so
it had a very fresh feeling. This time, I went to my hometown of
Kagoshima for 1 night and 2 days, so I think I got to show my relaxed
expressions.”
As reported earlier, Kashiwagi will hold her first solo live on July 13th at Nakano Sun Plaza. She expressed, “I haven’t even made my solo debut yet, and I’m going to have a solo concert. It’s unbelievable.”
