AKB48 reveals teaser for “Gugutasu no Sora”

AKB48 has revealed a video digest for “Gugutasu no Sora” through their official YouTube channel!

“Gugutasu no Sora” is a track off of AKB48’s upcoming single, “Manatsu no Sounds good!“, which is scheduled for release on May 23rd.

It’s sung by the group’s 16 Google+ senbatsu members: Matsui Sakiko, Takajo Aki, Katayama Haruka, Nakamata Shiori, Ishida Haruka, Suzuki Shihori, Tanabe Miku, Kuramochi Asuka, Nakagawa Haruka, Kitahara Rie,Yokoyama Yui, and Fujie Reina of AKB48, Matsumura Kaori and Matsui Rena of SKE48,Yamaguchi Yuki and Yamamoto Sayaka of NMB48.

NMB48 reveals title + senbatsu members for new single

AKB48 sister group NMB48 has revealed the title and senbatsu members for their upcoming single!

NMB48’s 4th single will be titled “Nagiichi“, which is short for “Nagisa de Ichiban Kawaii GIRL!!” (The Cutest GIRL on the Beach!!). It is scheduled for release on May 9th.

The 16 senbatsu members who will be participating in this single are Ogasawara Mayu, Kadowaki Kanako, Kotani Riho, Kondo Rina, Jonishi Kei, Shiroma Miru, Fukumoto Aina, Yamada Nana,Yamamoto Sayaka, Yoshida Akari, and Watanabe Miyuki of Team N, and Kinoshita Momoka, Jo Eriko, Tanigawa Airi, Murakami Ayaka, and Yagura Fuuko of Team M.

The track list and other details on the single will be announced at a later date, so stay tuned!

AKB48 & their sister groups hold charity live at each theater

On March 11th, AKB48 and their sister groups SKE48, NMB48, and HKT48 each held a special charity live in their respective theaters. SDN48 also held a handshaking event at Tokyo Big Site. The 282 members of these five groups held a joint broadcast and asked their audience to hold a moment of silence in remembrance to those who lost their lives in the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami exactly a year ago.

After the one minute of silence, the 282 members performed their song called “Dareka no Tame ni – What can I do for someone? –“ (also the name of this project) in a simultaneous broadcast. During this song, many of the members including Maeda Atsuko (20) and Oshima Yuko (23) shed tears as they thought about the victims of the 2011 natural disaster.

Since May 22nd of last year, 48 members of this group had visited the disaster areas 10 times to bring their performances for the victims there and at this event, chosen members of this group individually expressed their experience at this charity live. AKB48 research member Iwata Karen (13), who grew up in Sendai and experienced the disaster, stated, “I am going to do my best to become a hope of light to the victims there. Please continue to support those victims,” and urged the audience for more support. AKB48’s leader, Takahashi Minami (20) pledged that they would continue to work towards the recovery of the disaster areas and continue their visits to those areas as well.

After this one and a half hour event was over, AKB48 and its 90 members held a handshaking event for the audience and thanked their cooperation for this large project. All the official shops of this idol group were open for donations until 9 PM and gathered over 2,00,000 yen together (~$25,000 USD) at the end of the day.

NMB48 announces new single + Team N Osaka tour

AKB48 sister group NMB48 has announced that they will be releasing their 4th single on May 9th!

NMB48 has topped the Oricon charts three consecutive times since releasing their debut single, “Zetsumetsu Kurokami Shojo“. The title and other details on their new single have not been revealed at this time.

The group has also announced that Team N will be holding a live tour called “NMB48 Concert ~Osaka Juban Shoubu~” starting on April 19th. For this tour, the girls will stop at 9 venues in Osaka for a total of 10 shows. Tickets will be available for purchase on April 8th. They will also hold their first original performance on May 12th.

Additionally, NMB48 3rd Generation Research Students will kick off their theater show, “Aitakatta“, on April 29th, and Team M will hold their first performance, “Idol no Yoake“, on May 5th.

NMB48 introduces their Team M members!

On January 26th, AKB48’s sister unit NMB48 based in Namba, Osaka, held a press conference for the formation of their new team, “Team M.”  This will be the second team of NMB48 after “Team N” that was formed back in March 2011.

“Team M” consists of 16 members who have been chosen among the research students, and 14 members attended the press conference (Kinoshita Momoka and Yogi Keira were absent due to being sick).   At the press conference, it was also announced that Shimada Rena has been chosen as the captain for the team.  Shimada commented, “Since I’m given this important task, I would like to lead the team as one.”  She continued, “Though I’m the shortest amongst the members, I want to lead them in my own way while cherishing each of the members.  I would like to hold a concert that includes an acting segment, instead of just singing and dancing.”

NMB48’s Shirogumi reveals short PV for “Doryoku no Shizuku”

NMB48’s sub-unit, Shirogumi, has revealed their short PV for “Doryoku no Shizuku“!

This medium-tempo pop song comes with a video that carries lush imagery. The girls seem like they’re meant to embody the spirit of perseverance, and the scenes convey the message that even when you’re feeling alone, keep holding on.

Shirogumi’s “Doryoku no Shizuku” will be included in the ‘Type A’ and ‘Theater’ versions of NMB48’s upcoming single, ‘Junjou U-19‘. The single will be released on February 8th.

NMB48 reveals tracklist + jacket covers for “Junjou U-19″

Idol group NMB48 have finally revealed their jacket covers and tracklist for their upcoming 3rd single, “Junjou U-19“!

On January 2nd, NMB48’s official website posted an update with the tracklist info as well as all four album covers. As reported previously, “Junjou U-19″ will be available in four editions: Type A (CD+DVD), Type B (CD+DVD), Type C (CD+DVD), and ‘Theatre’ (CD-only). The single is scheduled to hit stores on February 8th.

NMB48 reveals title for their 3rd single

AKB48’s sister unit NMB48 has revealed the title for their new single!
Their 3rd single will be called “Junjou U-19“, and is slated for release on February 8th. The single will be available in four different versions: Type A, Type B, Type C, and Theater Edition.

The participating senbatsu members in the title track were revealed to be: Ogasawara Mayu, Kadowaki Kanako, Kishino Rika, Kinoshita Haruna, Kotani Riho, Kondo Rina, Jonishi Kei, Shiroma Miru, Fukumoto Aina, Yamada Nana, Yamamoto Sayaka, and Watanabe Miyuki from Team N.
1st generation research student Kinoshita Momoka, and 2nd generation research students Jo Eriko, Yagura Fuko, and Yogi Keira, were also included for a total of 16 members.

Additionally, the members of the ‘red’ and ‘white’ teams that will be singing in the coupling tracks have been revealed as well. The ‘white team’ consists of Yamamoto Sayaka, Yamada Nana, Ogasawara Mayu, Jo Eriko, Kadowaki Kanako, Kinoshita Haruna, Yogi Keira, Kishino Rika, Kodakari Yuka, Shinohara Kanna, Yamagishi Natsumi, and Okita Ayaka.

Meanwhile, the members of the ‘red team’ are Watanabe Miyuki, Fukumoto Aina, Jonishi Kei, Shiroma Miru, Kondo Rina, Kotani Riho, Kinoshita Momoka, Yagura Fuko, Hikawa Ayame, Yamaguchi Yuki, Murakami Ayaka, and Tanigawa Airi.
