ZUCK 2nd Anniversary Oneman LIVE "再生 / Saisei"

The
energy that would be boiling over on the grounds of Ikebukuro BlackHole
probably remained unnoticed to the outside world that day. Yet, who
ever dared to descend the stares of Ikebukuro BlackHole in the heart of
Tokyo would definitely find the most excited crowd celebrating ZUCK's
2nd anniversary.
The
performance titled "再生 / Saisei", with the meaning of "Rebirth" marked
not only the anniversary of the band's formation, but also the beginning
of a new start for ZUCK. Under the cheers and calls of the audience,
guitarist TSUKASA and the support members came on stage, eventually
being followed by vocalist Yuu himself.
A
well balanced mix of pop-tunes, heavy guitars from TSUKASA, powerful
drums and bass lead the audience through the night. "碧き群生 / Aoki Gunsei"
opened the set and from the very beginning Yuu was in full control of
the audience, making them jump and shout at his command.
"Let
me say this", he started his MC. "I'm home!" the crowd cheered for the
eventual reunion and return of their band. "It has been a long time
since we were able to meet. There has been some insecurity until today,
yet, seeing your faces blew it all away. Let's make this an awesome
anniversary event!"
"MAGICROOM"
finished of the main set with crashing beats and a wild audience
rushing towards the stage to get closer to the band members. Everyone on
stage moved about freely, joking and teasing each other, seemingly
enjoying themselves greatly.
For a moment only ZUCK disappeared, before loud calls demanded them back on stage.
"Thank
you for the encore." Yuu greeted as he came back into sight. "The next
song is perfect for this season," he explained before "桜舞ウ,僕ト君ト... /
Sakura mau , Boku to Kimi to" began, touching much softer tunes than
before.
Their
new track "蕾 / Tsubomi", which is a coupling track of their new single
"MONSTER", yet demanded the introduction of a special guest. No other
than Janne Da Arc's keyboardist Kiyo entered the stage, accompanying the
band on his instrument with charm.
For the second encore both Yuu and TSUKASA directed their thoughts towards their crowd.
"Thank
you for today", TSUKASA began. "It's been two years and a number of
things have happened. There was a lot of insecurity with regard to
standing here, but it was fun and I am really excited for the year to
come. There will be hard timed from here as well, but I want to turn
these hard times into positive feelings and therefore I am counting on
your support."
"There
was a time when ZUCK could have been over. Yet, you as fans, our staff
and all who supported us helped us. We must have caused you times of
great insecurity, but you are important to us. We want to hold all of
our moments with you dear to our heard and make you happy. The way ZUCK
has come to be has changed, but please stick with us in the futures as
well."
After
these important and emotional words, which left the audience speechless
for as long as they lasted, ZUCK complete their set with "ONE's STORY".
"Thank
you! It was a great anniversary!!" Yuu shouted, glacing over the crowd
with a wide smile on his face, just like TSUKASA and their fellow
musicians.
True
to his word, ZUCK did not only present their pure rock-pop sound with
tracks like "69億の言葉の形 / 69 Oku no Kotoba no Katachi" and "GO.RA.KU", but
also held a very special acoustic performance.
Yuu and TSUKASA were left alone on stage, sitting down with only an acoustic guitar and sheet notes.
"From
here we would like to bring you an acoustic live performance." Yuu
explained directing his next words not only at the audience but also at
TSUKASA. "Are you having fun?" However, said guitarist only answered
with a single chord on his guitar, making the audience laugh.
Eventually
the venue turned quiet and the audience listened intensely as the two
of them performed the song "ミカヅキ / Mikazuki", followed by their new song
"未来 / Mirai".
"From this year on, we would like to grow in this formation." TSUKASA said.
"And
with this thought, we have brought you this new song." Yuu had added.
"Maybe we'll only play it today, we don't know yet, but we brought it
anyway."
After
the short acoustic session, the performance revived its earlier speed
again with the performance of "MONSTER", which would only be released
days after the concert. The set continued emotional and powerful, spiked
with swinging dance rhythms and synthesizer effects, leaving the fans
to head bang, jump and dance. Skillfully TSUKASA's fingers would danced
over the strings of his instrument, showing off with speedy, delicate
and sometimes aggressive guitar solos.
