SCANDAL Announces the 3rd "Copy-Band Contest"

 

After SCANDAL's highly successful one-man live concert at Nippon Budokan, the girls of SCANDAL are in search for the next all-girl pop-rock band to conquer the music scene.

Already in it's third year, SCANDAL's "Copy-Band Contest" have attracted a total of 486 aspirants last year. This year, they are expecting the event to be even bigger. The finals have been decided to happen at SHIBUYA-AX in Tokyo on Dec 9th.

Last years' winner- dolls - have been given the opportunity to play alongside the band; moreover, dolls will also do the opening act for SCANDAL's “Band Yarou yo!! Vol.3” on July 16th. Entries for the "Copy-Band Contest" will start on June 1st.

KERA magazine to release anniversary compilation album

To celebrate their 13th anniversary, fashion magazine ‘KERA‘ will release a compliation album titled, “KERA! Song ~KERA SONGS 13th Anniversary Collection~“. It is scheduled to drop on April 25th.

Participating in the album are AnCafe, Kalafina, Kitade Nana, SuG, SCANDAL, Stereopony,Seishun Jump, Nakagawa Shoko, HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR, PIKO, and Wakeshima Kanon. It’s also been revealed that two of KERA’s models will participate in the album as ‘B Syndrome‘.

The limited edition of the album will include a DVD.

SCANDAL Releases Best Album

4 member girls rock band SCANDAL on the 5th of March in celebration for their first best album held an event at the Tokyo Shibuya Mt. RAINIER HALL.

The 5th was a special day as it was a day where all the supporters for the women athletes gathered for what is called "SUNRISE JAPAN". Appearing as a special guest was the London Olympic aiming comedy Nankai Candies' Shizuyo Yamazaki.The 4 members of SCANDAL cheered the women athletes with their yell of support for how cool they were and hopefully they would be even more pumped by listening to their music.

Shizu-chan was also at the event and will be performing at the Nippon Budoukan for the first time on the 28th of this month.

SCANDAL enjoyed performing as well as autographing merchandise and being on a talk show interacting with 200 fans.

SCANDAL to hold listening party for their first best-of album

Pop rock band SCANDAL have announced that they’ll be holding a listening party for their first best-of album, “SCANDAL SHOW“, in Osaka and Tokyo.

Scheduled for a March 7th release, “SCANDAL SHOW” will consist of tracks ranging from their major debut single, “DOLL“, to upcoming single “HARUKAZE“. (Check out the track list for the upcoming album in our previous post here.)

SCANDAL will invite 100 pairs (total: 200 people) amongst “Utatomo” members (au “LISMO” SNS service) to each party. The listening party in Osaka will be held on February 29th, and the Tokyo event will be on March 5th.

The girls also revealed the cover jackets for the upcoming album, which sees them wearing punk-influenced Kimonos.
