AKB48 sub-unit Not Yet to release new single “Suika BABY”

 

Oshima Yuko, Sashihara Rino, Kitahara Rie and Yokoyama Yui’s AKB48 sub-unit, Not Yet, announced that they’ll be releasing their 4th single “Suika BABY” on May 30th. It will be their other summer song after the 2nd single, “Naminori Kakigoori“.

The upcoming single will come in 4 types with limited and regular editions. Each limited edition will include the entry ticket for an event for which details have not yet been revealed, and a ticket for bonus listening contents.

Sashihara Rino makes a surprise appearance at Shibuya109

On April 24th, AKB48’s Sashihara Rino (19) made a surprise appearance at Shibuya109 to promote and sell collections from her collaboration brand with Samantha Thavasa, ‘Honey Sassy’.

Sashihara was appointed for the brand’s muse (or image model) back in February. Amongst other image models from famous celebrities to models, such as another AKB48 member Itano Tomomi (20), Sashihara decided to promote her brand with, “In this [collaboration], I created a design for a bag that is easy-to-use, so please use it!” and confidently introduced the feature of her collection.

She also participated as a cashier in this event and said, “I come to Shibuya109 a lot, and it’s a weird feeling to have my own designs lined up in these stores. But I am extremely happy,” and expressed her excitement.

In related news, a CM for Honey Sassy is planned for broadcast on the very same day of her solo debut single, “Soredemo Sukidayo”, on May 2nd.

AKB48’s Sashihara Rino to produce idol festival

AKB48 member Sashihara Rino will make her solo debut releasing single “Soredemo Sukidayo” on May 2nd.  Earlier we revealed the track list and jacket covers. It was also reported, she will produce an idol event for which Idoling!!!, Shiritsu Ebisu Chuugaku, SUPER☆GiRLS, Tokyo Joshiryu, Passpo☆ and Watarirouka Hashiritai7 will appear.

This is one of the events held for those fans who purchase Sashihara’s single “Soredemo Sukidayo”. For the first event, she will hold talk shows named ‘Ashika(Zalophus) to Sashiko no Kayou talk show‘ on May 26th and 27th at Ikebukuro Sunshine Aquarium. Additionally, as a special-feature event, the idol festival ‘Sashihara Rino Produces Dai Ikkai Yubi Matsuri ～Idol Rinji Soukai～‘ will be held on June 25th at Nippon Budokan. The ticket price is 345yen ($4.23) after Sashihara’s nick name “Sashiko”.

The leader of Idoling!!! Endo Mai stated “When we directly received offer, we were just really surprised. However, as a host at Tokyo Idol Festival and a pioneer of idol’s diversification period, we will support Sashiko-san’s offer.”

Since many popular idol groups will get together for the festival, produced by Sashihara, it seems to be attracting idol fan’s attention.

AKB48’s Sashihara Rino nominated as Oita City’s sightseeing ambassador

On April 18th, AKB48’s Sashihara Rino was appointed as Oita City’s first sightseeing ambassador.

Sashihara, who was born in Oita, was chosen for this position because she has continued to talk about her love for the city through TV programs and her official blog.

During a press conference, mayor Kugimiya Ban welcomed Sashihara to her position saying, ”I want her to send out the existence of Oita City to people nationwide. She’s very suitable to be the first (ambassador).“

Meanwhile, Sashihara commented, “I will do my best to deliver the unknown charms of Oita City to many people.”

To promote tourism, Oita City decided to promote a sightseeing ambassador back in February. They were looking to select a candidate from the entertainment and sports industries.

Sashihara will be the city’s sightseeing ambassador for 3 years. Her activities as the ambassador has not been determined at this time, however, a responsible party of the city stated, “We want her to introduce the food of Oita, as well as the Takasakiyama Natural Zoo.”
