L'Arc~en~Ciel's bassist TETSUYA has announced that he shall be holding a special solo concert which will be held at Shibuya Kokaido on the 3-4th of October.

 

Tickets will go on sale August 4th, Members of 'TETSUYA MOBILE' will be able to but tickets before the general public from May 14th-May 21st.

L’Arc~en~Ciel’s upcoming tribute album and live DVD revealed

 

L’Arc~en~Ciel would be releasing their tribute album “L’Arc-en-Ciel TRIBUTE” and live best DVD, “LIVE TWENITY“ on June 13th. Now, the track lists have been revealed!

For this album, various overseas artists will be covering L’Arc~en~Ciel’s hit songs. These artists include BOYZ II MEN, Clémentine, Daniel Power, Eric Martin, JOHN 5, Maxi Priest, Orianthi, TLC, Vince Neil, ZEBRAHEAD, and Michael Monroe.

Additionally, it was revealed that POLYSICS, SID, Hemenway, and TOTALFAT, who all belong to Ki/oon Music, will be singing the bonus tracks.

Meanwhile, L’Arc~en~Ciel’s live best DVD will contain 20 live clips of the band’s concert from ‘1997 REINCARNATION‘ to their most recent ‘20th L’Anniversary TOUR‘.

L'Arc~en~Ciel finally hitting Jakarta!

Promoted by local company Marygops Studios and regional promoters Midas Promotions, L'Arc~en~Ciel, the legendary and phenomenal rock band originating from Japan will finally thrill Indonesian fans with their appearance Live in concert in Jakarta. After such a long wait from the Indonesian Cielers for the band to hit our shores, their eagerly anticipated and outstanding performance is expected to feature an exceptional hi-tec stage and production that will blow the minds of the audience, promising a sensational experience for everyone. 

The L'Arc~en~Ciel concert on the 2nd May will take place at Lapangan D Senayan and will have futuristic concept using unique stage plotting, much different to other concerts, as this 2012 World Tour signifies their milestone 20th anniversary as a band.

L'Arc-en-Ciel - New Live DVD and Cover Tribute Album



L'Arc-en-Ciel have announced their new live best-of DVD entitled "LIVE TWENITY" which will be released on the 13th of June. This DVD will include 20 song, that have been taken from various live performances . As a kind of bonus, unreleased footage will also be included. Details are supposed to be announced soon.

Moreover, it has been announced that a first tribute album FOR L'Arc-en-Ciel will be released at the same time. This album will include L'Arc-en-Ciel song covered by a great number of overseas artists, such as BOYZ II MEN, JOHN5, ZEBREHEAD and many more.

L'Arc~en~Ciel - 20th Anniversary Tribute Album to be released

 

Yes everyone! It seems like some of our JRock artists (in the US and etc.) have come together to make a lovely tribute to L'Arc~en~Ciel! It's called "Vivid Colors - A 20th Anniversary Tribute" and will be released on April 10th of this year. You can pre-order it here. However, I'm not entirely sure if that's only meant for a US release.

It will come in 2 versions; CD or MP3. The CD costs $14.94, but the MP3 will cost $8.99. The tribute will have 13 tracks of some of the contributing artists' favorite songs by L'Arc.

L’Arc~en~Ciel performs at world famous Madison Square Garden

On March 25th, rock group L’Arc~en~Ciel performed at Madison Square Garden (MSG) in New York City. MSG is a world renowned venue and L’Arc became the first Japanese act to perform a solo concert there. Tons of fans packed the venue.

MSG is located in central Manhattan and it is a venue Western artists take much pride in performing in, MSG has the nickname of The World’s Most Famous Arena. L’Arc was first scheduled to hold their concert at another venue, but when around 5,000 tickets were sold on the spot, they changed their venue to MSG. Before their performance, leader Tetsuya commented, “It’s a privilege to stand on such a historic stage. We’re looking forward to it.”

Japanese culture is gradually becoming more popular in the United States, with anime being at the forefront. Vocalist Hyde commented on how some of their American fans are even memorizing and learning Japanese through L’Arc’s lyrics.

Dotty Roldan (49) came to the concert with her daughter Jasmine (18), who became a fan through anime. Dotty happily commented while herself and her daughter were buying T-shirts, “I love L’Arc.” In addition, Cat Davis (27) showed her love for the group as she came to the venue all the way from Mississippi; around 2,000 km (1,242 miles) away from MSG. Last November, Cat also got a tattoo of the band’s name on her back. “I like them right after The Beatles. Even though I can’t understand the lyrics, I can feel the emotion in their songs.”

L’Arc~en~Ciel holds their 1st live concert in Thailand

On March 7th, L’Arc~en~Ciel held the 2nd show of their world tour, “L’Arc-en-Ciel WORLD TOUR 2012“, at Bangkok IMPACT Arena in Thailand.

L’Arc~en~Ciel previously visited Thailand back in 1999 for promotional activities, however, this marked their first live concert in the country. Many fans awaited the band as they arrived at the airport. They held signs that read “We waited for 13 years“, and “Thank you for coming“.

From beginning to end, the 12,000 fans that gathered at the venue repeatedly gave out loud shouts and cheers of excitement. The crowd heated up even more when hyde (Vo) called out in Thai, “Good evening, everyone of Thailand. We’ve made you wait, are you ready!“.

Just like their Hong Kong show, the fans sang along as L’Arc~en~Ciel performed their hit songs. The next stop of their world tour is Shanghai, China on March 10th.
