Jacket covers for AKB48’s “Manatsu no Sounds good!” revealed

The jacket covers for AKB48’s upcoming 26th single “Manatsu no Sounds good!” have just been revealed and the pictures show the girls posing in beautiful white bikinis.

“Manatsu no Sounds good!” features a total of 36 members, which is the largest number of girls picked for a single in the history of the group and they all changed into white bikinis for the PV and jacket covers of this summer song. They went to Guam to film the PV and to shoot the jacket covers. Moreover the girls are split into two groups for the different covers of the single and the drama part of the PV.

The group featuring the regular senbatsu members – lead by Maeda Atsuko and Oshima Yuko – are called the ‘defenders’, while the many new senbatsu members – lead by Watanabe Mayu and Matsui Jurina – are called the ‘attackers’. In the PV, the ‘attackers’ have come to the rescue of the ‘defenders’, which is also supposed to symbolize an alternation of generations within the group, with Watanabe looking to inherit the position of the ace from Maeda.

There will be a total of four versions for this single, Limited Type-A and Type-B, as well as a Regular Type-A and Type-B that will go on sale, additionally to the obligatory theatre edition. For a limited time, those versions will also come with a certificate that grants you one vote at the upcoming ‘General Election’ for the 27th single on June 6th.

“Manatsu no Sounds good!” will go on sale on May 23rd.
